President Donald Trump has demanded “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER” from Tehran, as the only deal that could end the ongoing military conflict with Iran.

“There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” Trump proclaimed on Truth Social on Friday.

He explained that the end of the war would also come with a selection of “GREAT & ACCEPTABLE” new leaders for the country.

After those two things are accomplished, the president stated, “we, and many of our wonderful and very brave allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before. IRAN WILL HAVE A GREAT FUTURE.

“‘MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN (MIGA!)’” Trump concluded, calling back to his campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”

These remarks came a day after he told Axios that he needed to be involved in selecting new leadership for the Middle Eastern country after an Israeli strike killed 86-year-old Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday.

Days after the Ayatollah’s death, a building with 88 members of the country’s Council of Experts was bombed while they counted votes for Khamenei’s replacement, according to Axios.

Trump said that the late Ayatollah’s son, Mojtaba Khamenei, is his most likely successor, though that choice would be “unacceptable.”

“We want someone that will bring harmony and peace to Iran,” Trump told the outlet. “They are wasting their time. Khamenei’s son is a lightweight. I have to be involved in the appointment, like with Delcy [Rodríguez] in Venezuela.”

Rodríguez, Venezuela’s former vice president under ousted President Nicolás Maduro, became the country’s new president after the U.S. captured the socialist dictator and his wife, Cilia Flores, in January. Since January, the Trump administration has reportedly been cooperating with the Venezuelan government.

Days after the Ayatollah’s death, a building with 88 members of the country’s Council of Experts was bombed while they counted votes for Khamenei’s replacement, according to Axios.

Iran’s secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, made a statement on Sunday that Iran was prepared for a long war with the U.S. and Israel. However, The New York Times reported that the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence had reached out to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to discuss terms for ending the conflict, which has lasted nearly a week as of Friday.
