Present Donald Trump has revealed that the United States has “hit” and “completely destroyed” 10 inactive mine laying boats and/or ships in the Hormuz Strait using the same technology and missile capabilities previously deployed against drug traffickers.
On Tuesday, the president took to Truth Social to reveal the news.

This announcement followed Trump’s earlier warning to Iran, stating that if mines were placed in the Hormuz Strait, “the Military consequences to Iran will be at a level never seen before.” He added that if Iran were to remove any mines they may have placed, “it will be a giant step in the right direction!”

Earlier in the day, CNN reported that Iran had begun placing naval mines in the strait, a move that poses serious risks to shipping lanes.
The Hormuz Strait is particularly significant as one of the world’s most critical checkpoints for energy and trade. Approximately 20–25% of the world’s seaborne oil passes through it daily—more than any other strait. It is also the narrowest major waterway in the region, measuring only 21 miles wide.
