Progressive Prosecutor Frees Illegal Migrant, Virginians Pay the Price – Liberty Nation News

They call themselves reformers – but are they the solution or just another problem? Progressive prosecutors seem perfectly willing to let a dangerous predator off the hook if it means pandering to the globalist left, whatever the cost. That’s exactly what happened recently in Virginia, and it cost a woman her life. George Soros-backed Democrat Steve Descano, the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Fairfax County, disregarded the warnings of the police and released Abdul Jalloh, an illegal immigrant and a violent criminal with more than 30 arrests under his belt since 2014. And thanks to Descano, Jalloh was on the streets and free to commit his next crime.

Mr. Jalloh, a native of Sierra Leone who came to the US illegally in 2012, allegedly murdered 41-year-old mother Stephanie Minter on February 23. Minter’s body was found dumped at a bus stop in Hybla Valley, VA, with “multiple stab wounds to the upper body.” If guilty, this would be just another notch in his belt loop. Jalloh has previously been charged with rape, malicious wounding, assault, drug possession, identity theft, trespassing, larceny, firing a weapon … well, you get the idea.

And Descano knew all about Jalloh’s history and very well may have been able to prevent the latest crime. Fairfax County Police Major Jeff Mauro had warned the prosecutor’s office about how dangerous Jalloh was on multiple occasions. ICE had a detainer on Jalloh since 2020 and issued a final removal order. Yet still Descano declined to either release this well-known dangerous criminal to ICE or prosecute him for his crimes. Instead, several of his more recent charges were dismissed, and he was set free. How did Jalloh repay that favor? He was arrested the very next day for trying to rob a liquor store and then allegedly stabbed a woman to death.

In short, the Commonwealth of Virginia knew it was releasing a predator and did so anyway. For progressive prosecutors, anything’s better than cooperating with the Trump administration, apparently.

Progressive Reformers or Panderers?

Many states have been overrun by the socialist mindset, but Virginia might just top the list. And it seems Mr. George Soros, whose tactics are burning the political landscape from the inside out, is helping that state along nicely. When Descano ran for the Fairfax County job, the $650,000 provided by Soros-funded groups couldn’t have hurt.

And the police union is not happy. Steve Monahan, president of the Fairfax County chapter of the Virginia Police Benevolent Association (VAPBA), has been trying to recall Descano since 2023. In remarks to the media gathered, Monahan stated:

“What bothers me about this case is the fact that this absolutely could have been prevented Abdul Jalloh should have never been let out of incarceration. He should have been locked up. Stephanie Minter should be alive right now, and she’s not because (Commonwealth’s Attorney) Steve Descano’s office chose to release him back to the public.”

Hey George: How Many Is Too Many?

Jalloh has been in this country illegally since 2012, evidently wreaking havoc on Americans freely without fear of retribution. According to the US Sentencing Commission, 63.8% of federal violent offenders are re-arrested later, indicating that if someone commits a violent crime, they’re more likely than not to do so again if given the opportunity. Yet still, people like Jalloh are routinely released in progressive jurisdictions – especially ones where George Soros has thrown money around.

Will the murder of Stephanie Minter be the final straw that finally brings about change? Laken Riley wasn’t – neither were Jocelyn Nungaray, Rachel Morin, Melissa Powell, or any of more than a dozen other Americans killed by illegal aliens in just the last few years.

As Stephanie’s family wrote in her obituary, “Stephanie’s passing is a lost felt throughout an entire family and a whole host of friends. Stephanie can best be described as a happy, jolly individual, filled with love and adoration for her loved ones. A beam of light in dark places.”
