What Do Kristi Noem’s Crossdressing Husband, U.S. Withdrawal From NATO, and Social Media Have in Common? – PJ Media

Betcha a VHS copy of To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! that Kristi Noem wishes the story of her crossdressing husband and his “bimbofication” fetish had broken today instead of yesterday. That way, she could’ve dismissed it as an April Fools’ Day prank.

But no luck — the Noem photos and scandal appear to be legitimate — and Trump’s enemies are howling with laughter.

(By the way, isn’t it a little weird how the left keeps insisting that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s wife is a “private citizen” and her social media support of terrorism, dismissal of sexual violence against Jews, bigotry, and homophobia are none of our business, yet Bryon Noem’s fake boobs are a matter of national security?)

Yet the national security concerns are legitimate, too.

New York Post: Shocking Pictures of Kristi Noem’s Cross-Dressing Husband Flaunting Giant Fake Breasts Revealed — Sparking Grave Security Questions

The pictures show the South Dakota insurance mogul, who has three children with Noem, clad in pink hotpants and a skin-tight, flesh-colored crop-top stuffed with enormous balloons made to resemble massive cockeyed breasts.

His face is clearly visible in several of the photos, including one in which his expression is so mundane it could be from a driver’s license photo.

[…]

The outlet spoke with national security experts who said the existence of the scandalous photographs could have made his wife subject to potential blackmail threats.

“Damaging information like this can be a tantalizing lead for a hostile intelligence service,” former CIA officer Marc Polymeropoulos told the outlet.

“They approach the person and say, if you work with us we won’t expose this, and if you don’t, we will. That’s espionage 101.”

Kristi Noem was ousted from her role at DHS on March 5 after a pair of disastrous congressional hearings, including fumbling a question about whether she was having an affair with married top aide Corey Lewandowski. [emphasis added]

I don’t really care what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home. Behind closed doors, be as kinky as you want to be. But if you’re a public figure — and like it or not, the spouses of national politicians are absolutely, 100% public figures — then your public image matters. Pretending otherwise doesn’t shield you from harm; it increases the probability that you’ll be humiliated worldwide.

But what’s especially striking was Mr. Noem’s indifference when his identity was revealed.

From the New York Post:

Bryon, who made his fortune in the insurance industry, allegedly sent women he met in the online fetish community some $25,000 via Cash app and PayPal as he admired their over-the-top bust sizes and “amazing” curves,” the DM reported.

He traded selfies with one woman he pledged to worship like a “goddess,” telling her, “you turn me into a girl,” before asking if he should “put on leggings.”

One of the models claimed she once butt-dialed “Jason” and heard a voicemail greeting saying “Noem Insurance, leave a message.”

When she Googled Noem Insurance, she found pictures of Bryon and his DHS secretary wife, according to the Daily Mail.

When she confronted him about it, he reportedly told her that “he didn’t care” [emphasis added]

Honestly? He sounds like a guy who mentally checked out of his marriage a while ago. (And with Kristi Noem’s intimate, ongoing relationship with the also-married Corey Lewandowski an “open secret” in D.C., perhaps there’s a reason for it.)

Zoomers call it quiet quitting. It’s withdrawing from your responsibilities, doing the bare minimum, and not really giving a damn about anything other than yourself.

“Quiet quitters” have lost their passion and don’t see the benefit of working any harder, so they limit themselves to going through the motions.

You can quiet-quit work. You can quiet-quit marriage. And you can even quiet-quit democracy — a trend that seems to be driven by social media usage.

Axios: Super Scrollers Sour on Democracy: Poll

Heavy social media users are less likely to think democracy is the best form of government and more likely to stray from democratic norms, according to a newly released study from the Charles F. Kettering Foundation and Gallup.

The big picture: New research suggests social media is reshaping how people engage with democracy, expanding access to ideas while also contributing to a more fractured media environment.

Zoom in: Among U.S. adults who don’t use social media or use it for less than an hour a day, 72% and 73%, respectively, rank democracy as the best form of government.

  • The share slips to 57% among those who spend five or more hours a day on social media.
  • Heavy users are also more likely to see facts as subjective (16% vs. 9%) and to say it is sometimes OK for people to use violence to achieve a political goal (22% vs. 8%).

The correlation is stunning: 73% of users who spend less than an hour a day on social media believe democracy is the best form of government. After that, it drops by hourly usage: Those who spend 1-2 hours are 68% likely; 3-4 hours are 62% likely; 5+ hours are 57% likely.

The more you consume social media, the less faith you have in democracy — and your support for political violence increases nearly threefold.

Note that the 16-point drop between 1-hour users and heavy users comes eerily close to matching the 14-point increase in supporting political violence. That’s almost certainly not coincidental: The less faith you have in democratic institutions, the more likely you’ll believe violence is necessary to achieve political change.

Republicans are less likely to use social media than Democrats, so it’s a safe bet that far more on the left have lost faith in American democracy than on the right. That’s very bad news for the Dems and the 2026 midterms: If you don’t believe democracy works, what’s the point in voting?

Quiet quitting will cost you elections.

Meanwhile, our European “allies” have been quiet-quitting our NATO alliance for decades. They lack the testicular fortitude to actually leave NATO, so they instead underpay their military obligations, refuse to cooperate on security matters, and do the bare minimum.

From Politico: ‘Not a Very Good Arrangement’: Rubio Warns US Will Rethink NATO After Iran War

Donald Trump’s top diplomat complains that European allies are not helping America out in the Middle East.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington may need to reconsider its relationship with NATO once the war against Iran is over, sharply escalating pressure on European allies that America accuses of withholding support.

“We’re going to have to reexamine the value of NATO and that alliance for our country,” Rubio said in an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Tuesday night.

“If NATO is just about us defending Europe if they’re attacked, but them denying us basing rights when we need them, that’s not a very good arrangement. That’s a hard one to stay engaged in,” Rubio added.

[…]

Spain has emerged as a key point of tension in the transatlantic rift. Madrid has barred U.S. military aircraft involved in the Middle East conflict from using its airspace and refused access to key bases, Deputy Prime Minister Carlos Cuerpo said Monday, reaffirming the government’s opposition to the operation. [emphasis added]

Spain is a perfect example of quiet quitting. NATO nations are supposed to contribute to the collective defense by allocating at least 2% of their GDP to military spending. This 2% threshold is critical for defensive readiness and to deter aggression.

Yet Spain hasn’t spent 2% in over 30 years!

So what do we do when someone quiet-quits — whether they’re quiet-quitting their marriage, their job, or their cooperation with NATO? Realistically, what options do we have?

We have three choices:

  1. Ignore the quiet quitters. Pretend all is well, work around ‘em, and continue as normal.
  2. Have a heart-to-heart with the quiet quitters and see if you can encourage them to reengage.
  3. Fire them — and end the relationship

Small problems are often manageable. If the quiet quitter is still pulling his weight, it might be best to give him a long leash. Sure, it’d be nice if he made more effort, but if his inclusion is still a net-positive, perhaps it’s better to let sleeping dogs lie.

Just be careful, because quiet quitters wreck morale.

Other problems can be solved via communication. As long as all parties are acting in good faith — and the bad blood is minimal — there’s still a chance to clear the air, mend the relationship, and rebuild it stronger than before. (Don’t wait too long, however, because these things tend to snowball.)

But sometimes, the only way to deal with a quiet quitter is with a public firing.

Not every relationship can be salvaged. Sometimes, the dead wood must be scrapped and replaced before you can go forward — because it’s unfair to everyone else.

From the Noems’ marriage to the workplace to social media to NATO, there’s been an epidemic of quiet quitting. It’s wreaking havoc on families, institutions, and countries. Too many innocent people are caught in the crossfire.

But don’t expect President Donald Trump to quiet-quit NATO — or anything else.

Say whatever you want about our current president, but he doesn’t do anything quietly. When he fires you, he does it loudly.

And when he quits NATO, there won’t be anything quiet about it.
