There’s been another shakeup in the Donald Trump cabinet.
While there have been rumors floating around all Thursday morning, Fox News is reporting that Trump has officially fired Attorney General Pam Bondi, and is reportedly looking to replace her with Lee Zeldin, who currently serves as the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
News: The president has informed Pam Bondi that her time as AG is nearing an end, multiple sources tell me.

According to Fox, Trump made the move just before he went to the podium to address the nation on what’s going on with the conflict in Iran on Wednesday night.

Fox quotes two “sources familiar with the matter”:
Bondi met with Trump in the Oval Office Wednesday night ahead of his speech to the nation on the war in Iran, where she reportedly was informed of her ouster, according to two sources familiar with the meeting.
One of those sources said that by the time Trump took his place behind the podium for the address, Bondi already lost her job and was on her way back to Florida.
As I said, Trump is considering Zeldin as a possible replacement. The two men met on Tuesday to talk about wildfires and fire prevention, but Fox says that the meeting turned into a talk about a possible transition.
It’s also important to keep in mind that the Department of Justice (DOJ), when asked for a comment, denied the rumor and said that Bondi was actually with Trump during his speech last night. Bondi was also with Trump when he attended the Supreme Court oral arguments on the birthright citizenship case on Wednesday.
The New York Times has reported this week that Trump has become increasingly frustrated with Bondi’s role as Attorney General, and I know a lot of voters have too. I see it in our comments sections anytime we mention her, and I see it on social media daily. According to the Times, as of Wednesday, Trump hadn’t fully made up his mind.
If the rumors turn out to be true, and it’s looking increasingly likely that they are, this will be the second big cabinet shake-up within the last month or so. On March 5, Trump fired Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and replaced her with Oklahoma Sen. Markwayne Mullin. Noem now serves as “Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas,” and has been traveling around Central and South America meeting with various leaders there in recent weeks.
This is a developing story. We’ll update if/when we have confirmation from the Trump administration that Bondi has definitely been fired.
