‘The Epstein Files Released the Attorney General’ — and the Dems Mock a Pregnant Woman’s Weight Gain – PJ Media

Much was written about Pam Bondi’s firing as attorney general, but kudos to Jon Lovett for his pithiness:

More than anything else, Bondi’s bungling of the Epstein Files led to her well-deserved termination. By overpromising and underdelivering at every turn, she singlehandedly elevated a fringe conspiracy about a creepy, wealthy pedo-predator into an anti-Trump epithet.

For Trump’s enemies — on the left, the right, and internationally — “something-something-Epstein” has become their go-to explanation for whatever he does:

Iran is losing the actual war, but its misinformation war continues — and you-know-who is front and center:

Pam Bondi’s failure was counterintuitive because, of all Trump’s cabinet members, she was the most experienced and battle-ready. Bondi was the two-term attorney general from Florida, America’s third most populous state (and if you know anything about Florida Man, trust me, that job’s a doozy). It should’ve been a (relatively) seamless transition.

Yet her legal victories were few and far between, her communication skills woefully inadequate. Eventually, President Trump had had enough.

On April 2, roughly 33 days after firing Kristi Noem as homeland security secretary, he gave Pam Bondi her pink slip, too.

Which means, of course, that Trump fired TWO women. (Gasp!) Therefore, he must be a misogynist.

Advocate: Once Again, a Woman Takes the Fall for an Unpopular President

[Bondi’s] removal as attorney general arrives at a moment that now feels like every American is trapped on the same doomed hamster wheel: Something wildly unthinkable happens at the highest levels of government, public pressure boils over in multiple directions at once, and headlines begin to nosedive alongside the stock market. The administration responds not by altering course but by replacing a woman whose exit will dominate the news cycle just long enough to buy a little breathing room.

[…]

Misogyny is not a cultural side effect in this machine. It’s an integral part of the structure.

The Bondi-was-only-fired-because-she’s-a-woman argument was echoed by prominent Never Trumpers, too:

Kristol is wrong. Politically, Noem and Bondi were significantly worse than Pete Hegseth, Kash Patel, and EVERYONE ELSE in Trump’s cabinet. They were responsible for more bad press, political SNAFUs, boneheaded decisions, and high-profile headaches.

Noem and Bondi weren’t fired for their gender — they were fired for their performance.

It’s transparently phony: The same leftists who blasted Trump for hiring Noem and Bondi are now blasting him for firing them, too. (Why, you almost get the impression that they’ll attack Trump no matter what he does.)

But it’s especially galling, because over the past week, these leftists were responsible for one of the most brazenly disgusting, mean-spirited, misogynistic attacks in recent memory — and the silence of self-declared feminists was deafening.

Karoline Leavitt, President Trump’s 28-year-old press secretary, is pregnant. Her due date is next month

Spoiler alert: Pregnant women usually gain weight.

And sometimes, pregnant women are self-conscious of their appearance.

So, when Leavitt asked for an unflattering photo of her holding her child to be removed, guess how the mainstream media and liberal activists responded:

One, they were sensitive to her feelings and discreetly removed the image. After all, empowering working women is important — and mocking someone who’s in her third trimester(!) would just be cruel.

Or two, they doubled down and republished the photo all over the Internet.

If you didn’t guess #2, you haven’t been paying attention:

The same mainstream media that put glamorous “Doctor” Jill Biden on the cover of Vogue three separate times and celebrated Kamala Harris’s “beautiful” step-daughter as the next “it girl” is mocking the “ugliness” of Karoline Leavitt while she’s eight months pregnant.

Furthermore, the photo Leavitt asked Getty to remove wasn’t of historic significance. She wasn’t trying to delete a picture of foreign leaders, key legislation, or anything vital to the public interest.

She was literally holding her own child in her arms!

But because the photo made her look bad, they’re plastering it all over the internet. It’s misogyny, pure and simple.

The left’s beauty standards seem awfully selective. Melania Trump hasn’t been on the cover of Vogue a single time as a two-term first lady, yet “Doctor” Jill Biden was its cover girl three times in just four years!

And Karoline Leavitt — who is very obviously a beautiful, attractive young woman — is mocked and derided for having a double chin in her eighth month of pregnancy.

Then they turn around and accuse Trump of being a misogynist because he fired two women whom they never liked in the first place.

Bondi and Noem were fired for cause. No serious person was scratching their head and wondering why it happened. (If anything, many observers felt it was long overdue.) There’s a reason why they lost their jobs.

There was no reason to mock and insult a working mom in her third trimester. It’s cruelty for its own sake — and nothing more.

One Last Thing: 2026 is a critical year for America First. It began with Mayor Mamdani declaring war on “rugged individualism” and will reach a crescendo with the midterm elections. Nothing less than the fate of the America First movement teeters in the balance.

Never before have the political battle lines been so clearly defined. Win or lose, 2026 will transform our country.
