If you hear leftists shrieking in impotent insanity about the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) crushing religious liberty and human rights in Milwaukee, the arrestee they’re mourning is a literal terrorist.
Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) hysterically posted on X on April 2, “Targeting people because of their beliefs or background is wrong. This is clearly about sowing division and fear and doesn’t help make Wisconsin safer. I’m thinking of Mr. Sarsour’s family in this difficult time, and I join @RepGwenMoore in calling for his immediate release.”
DHS then responded with a necessary clarification:
Today, @ICEgov arrested a Jordanian national with a prior conviction for THROWING A MOLOTOV COCKTAIL at the homes of Israeli Forces.
He lied on his immigration application and became a green card holder under President Clinton.

Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin subsequently clarified the terrorist’s name. “DHS confirms ICE arrested Salah Sarsour today, the president of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee,” Melugin wrote.

So yes, Wisconsin Democrats were losing their marbles over the arrest of a convicted terrorist. They didn’t even bother to find out why he was arrested; they simply jumped to the conclusion that Islamophobia must be the reason. Either that or they just don’t care, which is also quite possible. After weeks of a Democrat-induced partial government shutdown that impacted millions of Americans, it is pretty clear the Democrats feel no shame about expending their time and resources on behalf of the most despicable foreign criminals.
The Islamic Society of Milwaukee painted a rosy picture of Sarsour’s status, according to TMJ4 News. “Mr. Sarsour has been a legal resident of the Milwaukee community for over thirty-two years,” the society averred. “He is married and, with his wife of 34 years, they have raised six children in the Milwaukee area. His wife and all of his children are U.S. citizens (Mr. Sarsour is a lawful permanent resident) and all of his children are college graduates and are gainfully employed. Four of Mr. Sarsour’s children are married, and he has nine grandchildren.”
Of course, he is not a lawful permanent resident, and in any case, having children who get jobs does not mean one are not a criminal. Many Islamic terrorists are married and have children. That is not an extenuation of guilt.
Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis celebrated Sarsour’s arrest in an April 2 press release. “Thanks to President Trump and ICE, this terrorist is out of American communities. This Administration will always put the safety of the American people FIRST and Make America Safe Again,” she said.
DHS reiterated the full charges:
Sarsour first submitted an application for an immigrant visa at the American Consulate in Jerusalem, which was denied due to his convictions in Israel for throwing a Molotov cocktail at the homes of Israeli armed forces and illegally attempting to possess weapons and ammunition…This criminal and terrorist will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.
Instead of rejoicing that DHS finally nabbed a dangerous terrorist who put the people of Milwaukee at risk, Wisconsin Democrats condemned his arrest. That’s the Democrat Party in all its inglorious idiocy.
