Israeli Amb. Danon to CBN: Toughest Part of UN Job is to Sit and ‘Hear Those Lies’

JERUSALEM, Israel – Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon has one of the toughest jobs on the planet: looking out for Israel’s interests in a world body that is hostile to the Jewish state at nearly every turn.

We spoke with the ambassador at the recent JNS International Policy Summit. He had just managed to bring a contingent of 30 U.N. ambassadors to Israel to see for themselves the devastation produced by the Hamas attack of October 7th, 2023, near Gaza.

Many people following Israel in the news might think that Danon’s job would have become easier with the Trump administration in charge in Washington. However, he told us that wasn’t the case in many instances, although Israel is grateful for the White House’s support.

In our interview, he weighed in on the Hamas-held hostages, UNRWA’s ties to terrorists, the diplomatic battle against Iran, raging antisemitism, and the U.N.-backed international courts’ efforts to bring criminal charges against Israeli leaders.

He also thanked people in the faith community for their prayers and asked for more.
