Minneapolis transgender mass shooter Robin Westman posted his manifesto prior to committing the Church shooting, confessing that he was “tired of being trans,” and that he “never” should have “brain-washed” himself.
23-year-old Westman was the gunman who carried out the mass shooting on Wednesday, targeting children as they gathered for Mass service. The sadistic attack tragically resulted in the death of two children, while injuring over a dozen others, before taking his own life.
Westman previously changed his name from Robert to Robin when he was 17-years-old, as he “identifies as a female and wants her name to reflect that identification,” according to court documents.

Westman recorded video footage of his manifesto before the church massacre, in which he explained his regret about identifying as transgender.
“I only keep [the long hair] because it is pretty much my last shred of being trans. I am tired of being trans, I wish I never brain-washed myself,” he wrote. “I don’t want to dress girly all the time but I guess sometimes I really like it. I know I am not a woman but I definitely don’t feel like a man.”
“I can’t cut my hair now as it would be an embarrassing defeat, and it might be a concerning change of character that could get me reported. It just always gets in my way. I will probably chop it on the day of the attack,” Westman continued.
“I regret being trans… I wish I was a girl I just know I cannot achieve that body with the technology we have today. I also can’t afford that,” he explained. “I like feeling sexy and cute, but my face never matches how I feel. I hate my face… maybe that’s why I like furries so much. You can give yourself a new body and face. I want to be that black face mask on Beyoncé’s body.”
Westman’s manifesto detailed his interest in being the “scary horrible monster standing over those powerless children,” expressing his twisted fantasy of victimizing children.
“I am feeling good about Annunciation. It seems like a good combo of easy attack from and devastating tragedy and I want to do more research. I have concerns about finding a large enough group. I want to avoid any parents, but pre and post-school drop off,” he wrote.
“Maybe I could attack an event at the on-site church. I think attacking a large group of kids coming in from recess is my best plan … Then from there I can go inside and kill, going for as long as I can.”
The journal Westman shared also included a photograph of Adam Lanza, the mass shooter who perpetrated the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting — which resulted in the death of 20 first-grade students and 6 adults.
“I have a deep fascination with one man in particular: Adam Lanza,” Westman wrote in a journal entry on May 23rd. “Sandy Hook was my favorite, I think, exposure of school shootings.”
Additionally, Westman’s mother, Mary Grace Westman, reportedly spent five years working at the Church of Annunciation, the church and Catholic school her son targeted, before her retirement in 2021.
