Minnesota Has a New Governor Contender – Liberty Nation News

Democrat Senator Amy Klobuchar formally launched her bid for Minnesota governor on Thursday, January 29, just weeks after Gov. Tim Walz announced he would no longer seek re-election for the state’s top political office.

Walz’s decision to drop out of the gubernatorial race came amid investigations into a massive fraud scandal that involved the alleged abuse of millions in taxpayer funds – but that might be just the tip of the corruption iceberg in the Gopher State.

Minnesota (N)ICE

Klobuchar kicked off her candidacy with a video attacking President Donald Trump’s deportation efforts, painting left-wing activists Renee Good and Alex Pretti – who were both killed while interfering with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in Minneapolis – as innocent victims of federal government overreach.

“Minnesota, we’ve been through a lot,” the senator said. “A beloved leader and her husband murdered in their home. Little kids gunned down in a church. The killing of Renee Good, a mom of three, and Alex Pretti, a nurse who took care of our veterans. Three thousand ICE agents on our streets and in our towns sent by an administration that relishes division.”

According to Klobuchar, Minnesota needs “leaders who can stand up and not be rubber stamps” of the Trump administration. Of course, such leaders must also be able to “find common ground and fix things in our state,” she added. Despite polls showing most American voters want illegal immigrants deported, that “common ground” apparently includes removing ICE from Minnesota altogether: “And I’m running for every Minnesotan who wants ICE and its abusive tactics out of the state we love.”

Sen. Klobuchar’s staffers apparently know a thing or two about “abusive tactics.” According to a Buzzfeed News report, former aides to Klobuchar revealed that the senator “ran a workplace controlled by fear, anger, and shame … one that many employees found intolerably cruel.”

“I cried. I cried, like, all the time,” one former staffer said.

Land of 10,000 Frauds

Just before the chaos erupted over ICE operations, a massive fraud scandal was uncovered in the frigid northern state.  As Liberty Nation News’ Graham J. Noble previously reported, “Investigations into what seems to be an extensive network of fake day care centers and medical clinics – mostly set up by Somali immigrants and Americans of Somali descent – are widening. These phony operations appear to have defrauded the residents of Minnesota and the American people out of something like $10 billion. The actual figure, at this point, is not known.”

Addressing the alarming taxpayer-funded scams, Klobuchar vowed to “stand up for what’s right and fix what’s wrong.”

“I don’t like fraud or waste in government. That’s why I went after crime as county attorney. I will make sure the people who steal taxpayer money go to jail and root out the fraud by changing the way state government works. I will do my job without fear or favor,” Klobuchar insisted.

No fear or favor? Maybe. Earlier this month, political analyst Dustin Grage revealed an alleged quid pro quo between Senator Klobuchar and Gov. Walz: “My same sources who helped predict Tim Walz’s rise to becoming Kamala Harris’ running mate say that Walz doesn’t believe he can win a statewide race. So now the plan is to clear the way for Amy Klobuchar, so she can appoint him to the U.S. Senate.”

But Walz told MS NOW that he would “never run for an elected office again.” So, while the failed vice-presidential candidate’s political career appears to have been swallowed up by the Land of 10,000 Lakes, Minnesotans will know soon if the plan was to have Klobuchar throw him a flotation device.
