Governor Greg Abbott secured a landslide victory in the Texas GOP primary on Tuesday, easily fending off ten challengers to clinch the Republican nomination for a fourth term.

Abbott clinched his fourth consecutive Republican nomination on Tuesday night, maintaining his perfect streak of double-digit primary victories.

A staunch ally of President Donald Trump, Abbott has led the Lone Star State since 2014. With this win, he moves one step closer to making history.

Having already matched his predecessor Rick Perry as only the second Texas governor to win three straight terms, he is now positioned to become the longest-serving governor in the state’s history.
