On Friday, May 30, the US Supreme Court said the Trump administration could revoke protected status granted by former President Joe Biden’s migrant parole program. A lower court had previously ruled the administration cold not end the two-year parole granted to about 532,000 migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela, arguing that the Department of Homeland Security had failed to conduct the necessary case-by-case reviews.
The case went up for appeal, and the Trump government requested – and now has been granted by the Supreme Court – emergency relief from the lower court order pending the appeal results.
