The latest 9/11 has been a strange day for America.
The US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, went on lockdown Thursday, September 11, after a midshipman who had been expelled returned armed and opened fire.
Gunshots were heard inside Bancroft Hall, which houses the midshipmen. One victim was transported via medivac and others are were being assessed. One official said the shooter was knocking on doors pretending to be a military policeman. Naval Support Activity Annapolis is coordinating with local law enforcement to investigate.
September 11, 2025, in addition to being the anniversary of one of the most heinous attacks on the US mainland in American history, saw a flurry of similar activity. Earlier in the day, multiple Historically Black Colleges and Universities locked their doors due to “terroristic threats.” As well, the FBI and Utah law enforcement continue their search for the assassin who shot Charlie Kirk, and Congress reported security concerns at the Capitol as lawmakers express fear for their own safety.
