Iran launched a “large-scale” drone attack at Israel, firing dozens of attack drones, according to the Iranian army.

Meanwhile, Qatar’s Ministry of Defense said in an Instagram post that a second wave of missiles from Iran had been “intercepted and neutralized.”

“All incoming missiles were intercepted and destroyed before reaching Qatari territory,” the ministry said, while reiterating that Qatar’s Armed Forces have “full capabilities and resources” to ensure the country’s security.

Iran’s foreign ministry released a statement in English condemning the US-Israel strikes and promising to respond “with authority.”

“The renewed military aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran is being committed while Iran and the United States were in the midst of a diplomatic process. Just as we were ready for negotiations, we have been more prepared than ever for defense. The armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will respond to the aggressors with authority.”

6 a.m. EST, 2 p.m. Arabia Standard Time (AST):

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced on X the kingdom’s readiness to join the fight against Iran. Translated, it reads:

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemns and denounces in the strongest terms the treacherous Iranian aggression and the blatant violation of the sovereignty of each of the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, affirming its full solidarity and standing by the side of the sister states, and placing all its capabilities at their disposal to support them in all measures they take, and warning of the grave consequences of the continued violation of the sovereignty of states and the principles of international law.”

Around this time, Iran announced it had fired missiles at half a dozen US bases in the region: Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait, Al-Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates, Muwaffaq Al-Salti Air Base in Jordan, the US Naval base in Bahrain, and another US base in northern Iraq.

Reports from around the Middle East indicate most of those missiles were intercepted by the host countries, though there was an explosion at the naval facility in Bahrain as well as an explosion in Riyadh that has yet to be confirmed as either an actual strike on Saudi soil or an interception.
