From the Back Forty: Flyover Folks Invite Trump Put Up or Shut Up

Has America reached the point of the Insurrection Act?

Democrats still want to get rid of Donald Trump – and more conservative heartlanders are still trying to figure out why or how they actually expect to pull it off. Yet Trump is still Trump – and still the president – and being who he is, that means he’s still bombastic, threatening, and chipping away at the random polls on presidential performance. The GOP has been on the hunt for the opponent to answer burning progressive questions like: Can a man have a baby? Democrats are fighting back, accusing both JD Vance and Jesse Waters of wearing eyeliner – though how that is relevant remains unclear. Perhaps the beleaguered head of the Gopher State, Tim Walz, could learn some makeup tricks to not look so, as one ER doctor said in conversation, “deceased.”

Nothing Will Happen – But …

Minnesota’s top state and city leaders – Gov. Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey, specifically – are under the uncomfortably bright light of federal investigation over whether or not they obstructed law enforcement. The probe is in its infancy, Fox News reports. No one really believes anything will come of it. However …

Walz just recently posted on social media a meme showing the good governor fussing with a thermostat and asking Trump to turn down the temperature. But as the whacky flip-flopping political walleye he is, Walz also demanded his citizens turn up the heat on the agents from ICE during an address. In Wisconsin, Ann Sul pointed out: “They imprisoned Trump’s supporters for a LOT less.” Heartlanders point that out on a daily basis when the news comes on in living rooms, kitchens, cafes, and pubs.

Well, rioters are turning up the heat, and they spent a good portion of Wednesday night attacking ICE vehicles and swiping guns and ammunition as they went. The chaos resembles George Floyd protests in their infancy. “Try that sh** in Texas. I dare you,” Cindy Thompson Wyrick suggested.

In Milan, OH, Bart Proctor had a great idea: “A water cannon would work wonders in this weather.”

Walz and Frey held their ground this week in secure and safe spaces while the citizens paid for their egregious mismanagement. “We can, we must, protest loudly, urgently, but also peacefully. We’re an island of decency and a country being driven towards cruelty,” said Walz, clearly unnerved as he nearly spat his opinions. Heartlanders would not hide in their mansions as the creatures again came out to cause mayhem. As Barbara Heinen of Missouri stated: “Lock and load America. Get tough ICE.”

The Insurrection Act has been on the tips of tongues in the Back Forty, including one native Kentuckian. “Walz cannot be more explicit — this buffoon believes he is seceding from the Union,” TV commentator Scott Jennings wrote on X. “We are well into Insurrection Act territory,” he added.

In Gaffney, SC, Ann and Stan Jolly mused: “Cushy job being a Minneapolis police officer. You don’t have to deal with criminals.”

Trump Is Tired of Defining a Woman

President Trump handed down an edict early in his first days in office: There are two genders. Period. But the good folks in Congress are still arguing the issue because that’s just what they do. In one painful exchange during a Senate hearing with OB/GYN Dr. Nisha Verma, clearly a liberal doctor, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) asks the question if a man can get pregnant – 10 times — while the doctor dodges and weaves.

But there is one Democrat, at least, who knows the answer: legendary Democratic Party strategist James Carville. Appearing with Kayleigh McEnany during an appearance on Fox News, the Ragin’ Cajun blurted his message in his typical off-the-rails style: “I don’t think men can get pregnant. My experience over 81 years is I never worried about it.” He also admits he has never taken “a birth control pill” in his life.
