Proving once again that she is a master at saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, Hillary Clinton took to the X platform on Sunday (June 15) to express her disdain for the military parade honoring the 250th anniversary of the US Army. The weekend event brought an estimated 250,000 Americans to the nation’s capital to view the event on Flag Day.
Mrs. Clinton juxtaposed four pictures in her post – two on the left showing the parade attendees and a helicopter flyover behind the Washington Monument, and two on the right displaying crowds protesting the event at a “No Kings Day of Defiance” in Los Angeles and Houston. Her post read: “Compare and contrast scenes from yesterday in America. On the one hand, Trump’s low-energy Dear Leader parade (that cost you $45 million). On the other, millions of people across the country gathering peacefully to say: Here, we have no kings.”
Mrs. Clinton’s comments were met with widespread derision from conservatives who took the opportunity to skewer her on the social media platform X. In response to Mrs. Clinton’s support for “No Kings” Day, Buzz Patterson wrote, “And, we don’t have queens either. We have a duly-elected president … which you’ll never be.” Poster Connie Bellue doubled down on Patterson’s message: “You keep showing what an utter loser and disgusting person you are.” Then there was this pearl, “@HillaryClinton not surprising you would stoop so low and degrade our Military being how you just deserted our Men in Benghazi. We haven’t forgot !” Eric Daugherty tapped out a short and sweet reply, “Hillary Clinton hates the troops, bigtime.”
A poster named Stewart was a bit more respectful but still gave Hillary an earful, “@Hillary Clinton as former Army, a Dad who was a Marine and Uncles who were in the Air Forces and Navy, I really enjoyed the Parade. It was nice to see the a parade that showcases ou[r] soldier[s], honoring them … and the 250 years the army has served this nation.”
Hillary Clinton Silences Her Critics
In an ironic yet not surprising juxtaposition with her vocal support for democracy, Mrs. Clinton does not permit comments on her own X page. The following message appeared just below her post: “Who can reply? Accounts @HillaryClinton follows or mentioned can reply.” However, that didn’t stop the “deplorables and irredeemables” from posting their thoughts on X. The crush of criticism continued with Allen Covert, who added his two cents: “If the only thing @realDonaldTrump ever did was stop Hillary from being President he would be the greatest American ever born.”
Mrs. Clinton was also roasted on a spit for making comments from the tony Hamptons, where she was attending a wedding, but not just any nuptials. It was a lavish affair for Huma Abedin, her former handmaid, and Alex Soros, son of the uber-wealthy progressive George Soros. The New York Times titled the swank affair “The Clintons and Kamala Harris Descend on a Hamptons Wedding of Liberal Royalty.” The event was widely mocked on X, but someone who uses the handle Bekind took the cake:
“Hillary and Bill were busy attending the Royal Wedding yesterday. ‘Prince Soros’ and ‘Princess Hillary Aide’ were married at one of the Soros Castles located in the Hamptons. The guest list was right out of the Game of Thrones with those attending enjoying Wagyu Steaks and Seafood.”
If reactions such as these are any indication, Hillary Clinton would be better off keeping her comments to herself. However, it is certainly her right as an American to speak her mind. After all, freedom of speech is something that many in our military have fought and died for trying to preserve. As Linda Kennedy posted on X, “Our country is also entitled to celebrating the men and women who serve and have served our great nation. They are committed to protecting us. Why not give them some glory? Why not give the youth here a glimpse at what it means to take responsibility, and strive to be the best they can be?”
