Joe Biden and the Autopen Saga: Did He Even Know?

A new investigation reveals just how extensively President Joe Biden relied on his autopen. After examining the device, it was determined that the administration used it to “sign” every single executive order from July 15, 2022, to April 18, 2023 – nearly a whole year. The really interesting tidbit, however, is that the beginning of that time frame coincides with a period when concerns over Biden’s cognitive health skyrocketed among the American people.

Did something happen to the sitting president of the United States in mid-2022? “President Biden appears to have wet signed every Executive Order and clemency warrant during the first year and a half of his presidency,” the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project reported April 30. “We have found that the Biden White House auto penned [its] first clemency warrant on June 13, 2022 – a prison sentence commutation for Brittany Krambeck – and auto penned [its] first Executive Order on July 15, 2022.”

After that, the White House autopen use became ubiquitous.

“From July 15 forward, every executive order issued in 2022 was signed using the autopen, effectively abandoning wet signatures for the remainder of the year and much of the remainder of the President’s term,” the conservative think tank’s report continues. “This trend persisted into 2023, with 16 out of 24 executive orders (66.67%) bearing autopen signatures. Surprisingly, it was not until April 18, 2023, that a wet signature reappeared, breaking a nearly year-long streak of exclusive autopen use.”

Clues to When Joe Biden Crashed Out?

It’s rather shocking, isn’t it? Starting in mid-July 2022, Joe Biden effectively ceased to carry out a (pardon the pun) signature duty of all presidents for a full nine months, and rarely performed the role afterwards for the remainder of his term. While it is widely believed that he never truly was driving the car from the first day of his administration, one can only conclude that Biden’s very presence, for form’s sake if nothing else, was no longer required at the White House from the summer of 2022 on.

That season marks the time when an always-shaky Democrat and cooperative big-box media framing of Biden as a clear-headed, fully focused and hands-on president had begun to shatter. “According to an Issues & Insights/TIPP poll released [Aug. 8, 2022], 59% of respondents were ‘concerned’ about the president’s mental health, with 36% saying they were ‘very concerned’ and 23% ‘somewhat concerned,’” The New York Post reported that August.

No wonder. Americans could see the startling decline with their own eyes. On June 18, Biden took an embarrassing spill while bicycling in Delaware after he claimed his foot got stuck. In July, he mortified the world by referring to the “honor of the Holocaust” during a state trip to Israel.

That April, shortly before the autopen was first whipped out, Biden was captured on video trying to shake hands with thin air following a speech in North Carolina. There were other incidents. Too many more. Every week in 2022 seemed to bring out a new cringeworthy viral moment.

“Look, it’s a problem,” an unnamed Democrat strategist told The Hill that June. “He’s f—— old and everyone knows it, but no one wants to talk about it for fear of offending him or anyone around him.”

Interesting quote there. “Everyone knows it,” this Democrat insider stated. At the very moment when the autopen was taking over the White House.

Abetting a Fraud?

All of this furthers the need for some very tough questions to be asked of the Biden administration officials who actively attempted to dupe the American people over this man’s physical fitness for office.

“Even at the White House Easter celebration, the Easter Bunny had to guide him back into his safe place,” GOP Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) pointed out to Biden Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg during a July 2022 House Transportation Committee hearing. Biden is equipped with “cue cards that say ‘Sit Here’ or ‘End of Speech,’ which he actually states [aloud], that is, if he stays awake,” the congressman devastatingly added.

Liberty Nation depends on the support of our readers.

Buttigieg’s response, in retrospect, should be the focus of a 2025 investigation of its own.

“The President of the United States is as vigorous a colleague or boss as I have ever had the pleasure of working with,” he replied.

That is in direct contrast to the words of the unnamed Democrat strategist just one month earlier that “everyone” knew just how impaired Biden was. And Buttigieg didn’t just say it in a public address, which would be bad enough. He made this demonstrably untrue remark while testifying under oath before Congress.

“Perhaps most concerning is the context of this autopen usage. The Oversight Project found that a significant majority of these autopen signed orders were issued on days when President Biden was physically present in Washington, DC,” the Heritage report disturbingly notes.

“Specifically: 87.71% of autopen-signed Executive Orders in 2022 occurred on days when  President Biden was in DC.; 75% in 2023; 57.14% in 2024; 78.57% in 2025.”

He was there but he wasn’t really there. And unelected entities running the Biden White House knew it and tried to conceal it to the general public as best they could while rolling out a plethora of radical executive orders and outrageous pardons of convicted criminals all bearing the canned machine signature of a president who likely had no idea what was being done in his name.
