Actress Sydney Sweeney met with Israeli hostages Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or, who were recently freed and reunited after being taken hostage by Hamas on October 7th, 2023.

The pro-Israel advocacy organization StandWithUs shared a photo of Sweeney embracing Argamani and Or on Tuesday, prompting an outpouring of support for the 28-year-old movie star.

“She’s not afraid of being cancelled in Hollywood. Bravo,” one commenter applauded on Instagram.

“Turns out it’s not just the jeans that fit well, it’s the values too,” Itai Biran, a diplomat at the Israeli Consulate General to the Midwest in Chicago, posted on X.

The encounter came amid Sweeney’s high profile relationship with music executive Scooter Braun, who has spoken at multiple StandWithUs events and also previously met with both Argamani and Or.

Following his meeting during the couple’s visit to the U.S. last month, Braun took to Instagram, calling it a “beautiful night getting to see these two together.”

Braun, whose grandparents were Jewish Holocaust survivors, spoke publicly last month after the antisemitic terror attack on Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia.

The Israeli couple had been kidnapped on October 7th, 2023, during a Hamas attack that killed more than 1,200 men, women, and children, including 46 Americans, in Israel.

Video footage showed 26-year-old Argamani reaching out toward her boyfriend as two Hamas terrorists whisked her away on a motorcycle from the Nova Festival in Israel. Or, 32, was surrounded by several men with his hands cuffed as he was also taken captive. Argamani was held for 245 days before the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) rescued her in a mission. Or was held for 736 days before he was released under a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

Argamani and Or’s reunited in October 2025 after two years apart.
